Only very recently I had one of those amazing “aha moments” that really opened up my eyes. Sitting down talking to a very bright woman we were discussing her nutrition. “So, what’s your protein intake like?” I asked, ready to dig deeper into her answer “Eh, what’s protein?” And that’s when it hit me. We went through her diet and I gave examples of protein and she was quickly able […]

So we all know the benefits of getting more fish into our diets. I have to admit I am probably the worst in our house for fish, I seem to be the big kid who needs coaxing with eating more of it! So I am definitely putting in the effort to get more fish into us all here at home and here is a nice simple recipe that we made last week. Homemade fish fingers! […]
I have a confession, pizza is my downfall! Its my kryptonite! You can dangle chocolate, cakes or biscuits in-front of me and I wont stir. Give me a whiff of a fresh pizza and I'll break before you have time to place it on the table! Unfortunately pizza doesn't sit too favourably on the list of ideal foods while living Paleo. However I will admit that i will still indulge in one the odd time. […]
Just over six weeks ago we were blessed to have another healthy and happy baby come into our family. Little Grace, who's name we thought was fitting considering the year that's in it (after one of our favourite Irish songs) came along at a healthy 8lb 4oz. The poor little thing developed silent reflux and it was heartbreaking watching her in constant pain. Testing as it is on your own patience your heart breaks to […]
One complaint I hear from time to time is that trying to eat Paleo/Healthy is too expensive. Straight off the bat I'm saying this isn't the case! Sure you can go for super organic kale and hand massaged Kobe beef and complain it isn't cheap or you can focus on all the one ingredient, natural foods you can find relatively cheap in our local shops. As someone who loves to cook but has plenty of hungry […]
Decided to get a little bit brave with our Sunday roast today! We usually stick to our tried and tested roast chicken recipe (which gives amazing juices to make our roast potatoes with) but wanted to try something new. Thyme, red wine and red onions were thrown in today to see what sorta flavours they give to our roast. Busy praying here that it tastes good or else I'll be in a world of trouble […]
As I'm sure many of you have seen in the last 2 weeks or so there has being a lot of media coverage for the Hand in Hand charity. This great organisation was on the brink of closing it's doors and leaving many families without their amazing services and support. For those who may not have heard of this charity, Hand in Hand is the children's cancer support service for Ireland. This unique organisation provide practical […]
“The quality of our lives depends upon how we focus our energy and attention”. Our energy and attention are two very limited resources that we have at our disposal. Focus them in the wrong place and the quality of your life might not be where you wish it was. “Change your focus, change your life” is one of my favourite Tony Robbins expressions and one that has helped me numerous times to get everything back […]
